90JILI GCash App: What Changed in 2025

GCash cites BSP Memorandum M-2025-029. From 16 August 2025 the app has no licensed gaming top-up, no gaming cash-out and no Games section. It calls itself a non-gaming app and leaves gaming questions to the merchant. So a cashier button that says GCash does not tell you what the wallet will accept.

On 1 November 2026 the lobby’s help centre still listed GCash and GcashQR for deposits and carries a “GCash New Mode” guide. That guide describes choosing GCash in the deposit screen, switching to the GCash app to confirm the payment, then returning to the lobby. Whether that route is open today was not tested.

Set Up and Verify the GCash App

1. Install GCash from its store listing and sign up with your mobile number.
2. Open Profile and tap Verify Now. Expect, in order: a code of 6 digits, date of birth and nationality, one government ID scanned, a face scan, then a summary to confirm.
3. Wait for the update. GCash says it comes by SMS after 7 days.
4. Open Profile Limits and read the table that applies to you.

GCash updated these limits effective 1 October 2026, and it may change them again. The physical ID is required, and a photocopy is refused except for the National ID.

Do: verify before you need the wallet, not on the day a payment is due. Don’t: lend your GCash account to a friend’s cashier.

Why Verification Is Worth Doing Early

Verification takes days, and the update comes by SMS. Basic covers bills, load, cash-in and QR payments; sending money and bank transfers wait for Fully Verified status. If you plan to move money to a bank later, an unverified wallet can leave you waiting at the worst moment. Linked accounts take the top limit among them rather than adding up, so opening another one lifts nothing.

Do: check Profile Limits again after any change GCash announces. Don’t: open extra accounts to get around a limit.

Checks Before the Cashier

The lobby’s help pages print figures for deposits and withdrawals, but the cashier is the screen that applies.
